The Windsor High School varsity girls volleyball team defeated visiting Greensville County High School 3-0 on Thursday, Oct. 20, to close out the 2022 regular season with a 15-5 overall record, including a 13-1 mark in the Tri-Rivers District.
The Lady Dukes’ outstanding success against Tri-Rivers opponents made them the district regular season co-champions with Southampton High School.
Windsor will host Greensville in the district tournament semifinals Tuesday, Oct. 25, at 5:30 p.m. A win in that match would put the Lady Dukes in the final on Thursday, Oct. 27.
While Windsor opened the week with a rare defeat — a 3-1 loss to host Isle of Wight Academy on Monday, Oct. 17 — the Lady Dukes rebounded quickly with another district victory Tuesday, Oct. 18, dispatching host Brunswick High School 3-0.
To close out its play in the previous week, Windsor shut out another district foe, Surry County High School, on Oct. 13.
The Windsor junior varsity girls volleyball team defeated Surry 2-0 on the same day and fell 2-0 to IWA on Monday. The JV Lady Dukes beat Greensville 2-0 on Thursday to finish their season with an overall record of 9-6.
