Ruby Joyce Ridgill Simon, 75, passed away Saturday, Dec. 11, 2021. Born March 26, 1946, in Manning, South Carolina, she was the only daughter of the late James Willard and Iva Lawrimore Ridgill. Mrs. Simon was preceded in death by husband, Chester Allen Simon, in 2003, having celebrated 34 years together as soulmates, and her brother, Thomas Willard Ridgill.
Mrs. Simon was a beloved daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother and soon-to-be great-grandmother. She served in the healthcare field as a registered nurse for many years and was a graduate of the University of South Carolina Medical School. She worked in local hospitals, nursing homes and as a school nurse. Most of all, she had a strong faith and love for the Lord. She grew up in the church and continued to place her faith in God and watched over her family as the Lord had done for her.
She is survived by her daughter, Leigh Nichole Simon; son, Chad Allen Simon and wife, Rebekkah; grandchildren, Krista, Addie and Craig-Allen; brother, James Richard Ridgill and wife, Mary Sue; and sister-in-law, Melissa Ridgill; and a host of friends and family.
