Wydia’s Bistro moves north along Main Street
FRANKLIN
Every restaurateur knows that change happens, and the way to survive — and thrive — is to adapt.
That’s what Wydia Bailey has done this year. Franklin’s Seafood and Steakhouse, which she opened in March 2017, has become Wydia’s Bistro, and moved from the corner of Main and First Avenue, to 401 N. Main St. The reason for the physical shift is simple enough: The building was sold.
She’s put her personal touches on the place, from refreshing the walls and flooring to adding décor and seating.
Credit is given where credit is due, and Bailey quickly cites Miss Shirley (Shirlie Camp) and Patricia Rawls for their advice and help in getting resettled.
“They support the community,” said the proprietor.
In addition to renovations and redecorations of the interior, Bailey has updated the menu to feature fresh seafood, such as scallops, flounder and shrimp. There will also be, she added, more different cuts of steak.
Dinner is not the only mealtime, of course the Bistro is open for both breakfast and lunch.
More staff will be added on in mid-January, which will be especially helpful considering that Bailey wants to implement limited deliveries of food.
The grand opening is not scheduled until sometime in February.
Hours of operation are 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday, Tuesday and Thursday; 8 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday; the all-you-can-eat buffet takes place from 11 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. on Sunday; closed on Wednesday, the latter of which can be reserved for private parties and on- or off-site catering
A full bar will be established, and a private banquet setting is also available.
Wydia’s Bistro is located at 401 N. Main St.
