The Cheroenhaka (Nottoway) Indian Tribe will host its Corn Harvest celebration from Nov. 1-3 at Cattashowrock Town in Courtland.
From 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday, the day will be devoted to school students and teachers. The program is designed to be appropriate for Standards of Learning.
Luis Salinas and the Aztec dancers will perform a fire ceremony at 11:15 a.m. Following a lunch break, the Hoop and Eagle dancers will perform at 12:30 p.m. The visitors will load buses at 2 p.m. and return to their schools.
The cost is $5 per student.
At 7 p.m., there will be a bonfire and grand entry.
The powwow continues from 10 a.m. to sunset on Saturday and Sunday.
