With the Every Student Succeeds Act shaping state curriculums, and students getting closer to the end of their summer breaks, the personal-finance website WalletHub, on Monday, released its report on 2018’s States with the Best & Worst School System. The report named Virginia as having the sixth best school system in America.
In order to determine the best school systems in America, WalletHub compared the 50 states and the District of Columbia across 25 key measures of quality and safety. The data set ranges from pupil-teacher ratio to dropout rate to median standardized-test scores.

On a scale of one to 50, with one being best and 25 being average, Virginia was aranked fourth in math test scores, seventh in reading test scores, 21^st in pupil to teacher ratios, 28th in median SAT score, fifth in median ACT score, 20th in dropout rate, fourth in bullying incidence rate, and 14th in the percent of threatened or injured high school students.
