Purdie, Ivor lodges honor community supporters

Purdie Lodge No. 170 and Ivor Lodge No. 291 held a joint Community Builders Award Banquet on May 10 in the Windsor Ruritan Building. Community Builders Awards are presented to non-Masons in recognition of outstanding service to their community. The award is given and heartfelt gratitude is expressed for significant efforts toward making their community a better place to live.
After a great dinner, Ivor Lodge No. 291 presented the CBA to Chad Griffin Brock. He was recognized for his many years of community service in many different areas around Ivor and Southampton County.
Three scholarships were also presented to students continuing their higher education. They were Hannah and Sarah Faison and Cameron Bruce.
Purdie Lodge No. 170 presented its CBA to Kim W. Garrett. She has been very active in the Windsor Woman’s Club and has served as chairman of the Ways and Means Committee for seven years. Garett has worked to help make the Windsor Community Center become a reality. She volunteers her time at the Isle of Wight County Fair.
This lodge presented two scholarships to graduating high school seniors pursing higher education. They were Haleigh Andrew and Spencer Scott.
William Fuller, an Eagle Scout, was presented with a letter and certificate from Grand Master Gary W. Taylor for this accomplishment.
