Windsor’s Little Free Pantry has been up and running since the end of September at the grassy triangle between South Court and Church streets, but the Woman’s Club of Windsor is seeking the community’s help to keep it stocked.
A club news release noted that the pantry is a result of a project that the Woman’s Club of Windsor did to help fight food insecurity and is available seven days a week for those in need.
“While the club members are trying to keep it stocked, it can often be seen looking a little bare,” club officials stated in the release.
Students from Isle of Wight Academy’s Key Club and Junior Student Council came to the rescue when they recently restocked it.
“The Woman’s Club is asking for community support by placing unexpired, nonperishable food items in the pantry,” officials stated.
A food collection box will also be available at El Rodeo Mexican Restaurant during the month of December.
