Isle of Wight County Schools’ building trades students, under the supervision of instructor Robert Rodgers, built a storage shed for Windsor Elementary School to safely store surplus furniture at the school.
District 3 School Board member Michael Cunningham joined school division and county officials and workforce partners at WES Nov. 27 for a ribbon cutting ceremony, according to a news release from Isle of Wight County Schools.
This significant accomplishment from the building trades students represents the culmination of hard work, dedication and a shared vision. School officials said in the release that the journey leading up to this point has been one of collaboration, perseverance and commitment from all those involved.
The students are now in the process of building a shed for Georgie Tyler Middle School.
