Bon Secours recently announced that as part of its commitment to keep residents of the community healthy, it will be offering free drive-thru flu shots on Saturday, Sept. 30, from 8 a.m.-noon in Franklin, Suffolk, Portsmouth and Newport News, while supplies last.

“We love providing flu vaccines to the community each year,” said Valerie Sommer, director of nursing at Bon Secours Health Center at Harbour View’s emergency department. “It’s a great opportunity to keep our neighbors healthy, while getting reacquainted! Some neighbors have come every year since we started in 2010. It’s fun to see their families grow, and catch up — even if it’s only for a few minutes.”

Following are the locations where the drive-thru flu shots will be available:

• Bon Secours Southampton Medical Center, 100 Fairview Drive, Franklin, VA 23851;
• Bon Secours Health Center at Harbour View, 5818 Harbour View Blvd, Suffolk, VA 23435;
• Bon Secours Maryview Medical Center, 3636 High Street, Portsmouth, VA 23707; and 
• Bon Secours Mary Immaculate Hospital, 2 Bernardine Drive, Newport News, VA 23602.
