IW schools teaching welding to adults
Isle of Wight County Schools is offering an adult education welding program beginning March 2. The 10-week program will include some virtual instruction and face-to-face instruction in the welding lab at Smithfield High School on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:30 to 6 p.m. Tuition is $250, which includes personal protection equipment.
The classes are endorsed by the American Welding Society and will provide safe, expert, step-by-step instruction. Students will also have an opportunity to participate in online certification testing.
