Accident on Brewers Neck Blvd. results in fatality
A Windsor man died in a single-vehicle accident last night, which occurred in the southbound lanes of Brewers Neck Boulevard.
According to Sgt. Michelle Anaya, a spokeswoman for the Virginia State Police, troopers arrived at the scene on Sept. 22 at approximately 10:25 p.m., where their preliminary investigation revealed the driver of a 2004 Toyota Tacoma pickup truck, identified as Dean Avery Turner, ran off the roadway into a ditch, striking a mailbox and tree before overturning. The passenger, Richard Conrad Sawyer, 76, of the 10100 block of Magnolia Manor Lane, Windsor, died at the scene. Turner was transported to Riverside Regional Hospital.
No charges have been made at this time, but the investigation is ongoing. Family members of the deceased have been notified.
