Town Treasurer Christy Newsome will be leaving Windsor at the end of the month.

As such, Windsor’s Town Council has begun working with its new town manager, William Saunders, to find interim and permanent replacements.

“History suggests that filling the treasurer position will take some ti me,” said Mayor Glyn Willis. “We recognize the importance of the treasurer and will work to have a qualified person in place as quickly as possible.”

Newsome declined to comment on her resignation and according to Willis, hasn’t told him where she’s going either.

“We wish her well in any new opportunities that she has,” the mayor said. “We regret to see departures of town staff but recognize that this is a natural part of people’s careers and the growth and progress of the town.”
