Contrary to any reports, there has been no tornado that struck in Windsor, Virginia, because of Tropical Storm Isaias early Tuesday morning.

Windsor Police Officer Chief R. Riddle and Lt. Tommy Potter of the Isle of Wight County Sheriff’s Office each told Windsor Weekly that such an event took place at a mobile home park in Windsor, North Carolina.

On the Virginia side, Riddle said there have just been some downed power lines and tree branches. All but Virginia Avenue had been cleared at the time of his call around 10 a.m.

Potter said the situation is similar throughout the rest of the Isle of Wight County.

“All is well,” he said. “There were sporadic winds and a lot of rain. We were very luck and blessed.”
