WINDSOR — James Vernon “Jimmy” Carr Sr., 72, passed away on Oct. 7, 2019, in Sentara Obici Hospital surrounded by family and friends.

Jimmy was a member of Colosse Baptist Church.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 52 years, Nita Vick Carr; two sons, James Vernon “Jim” Carr Jr. of Suffolk; and William Tracy Carr of Windsor; six grandchildren; and his beloved yellow lab, Gator.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 10, in Wright Funeral Home with the Rev. Tim Webb and the Rev. Steve Yarbrough officiating. Burial will follow in Windsor Cemetery.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. in the funeral home, and suggests that memorial donations be made to Colosse Baptist Church, 6361 Rhodes Dr., Windsor, VA 23487.
