Readers, get your eyes ready for some serious reading this season. The library has planned its summer program and contest.
Week 1: Tuesday, June 26, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Register for Summer Reading, cool off in the foam machine, and take a bounce in the bouncy house.
Week 2: Tuesday, July 3, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Craft day at the library. Stop in and paint a rock to keep or hide.
Week 3: Tuesday, July 10 at 11 a.m. in the Windsor High School Auditorium. Go batty with “Bats around the World.”
Week 4: Tuesday, July 17 at 11 a.m. in the Windsor High School Auditorium. Build a story with storyteller Sheila Arnold.
Week 5: Thursday, July 26, 5 to 6:30 p.m. Baseball Night with Riptide! Bring the family and enjoy an evening of baseball, activities, food and, of course, Riptide.
Week 6: Tuesday, July 31, 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Pizza and Pickin’ stop in to enjoy a slice of pizza and folk music with Barbara Edwards. Turn in your punch card to receive a free book and be entered in a drawing for a $50. Amazon Gift Card.
- Children will visit the library weekly to check out books and have their card punched; they will be required to check out either 10 picture books or two chapter books to receive the weekly button incentive.
- Teens will be required to check out two books per week to have their card punched; at that time they will also fill out a slip to be entered into the weekly prize drawing for an Amazon gift card.
- Adults will fill out a short entry form for each book they check out to enter BRL’s weekly gift card giveaway (Amazon or Walmart gift card) and to enter to win the grand prize Amazon Kindle giveaway on week 6.
- There will also be a drawing for three $50 Amazon gift cards for children, teens and adults that complete the reading program by Tuesday, Aug. 7.
